Interracial dating is showing signs of being more accepted in society today, but we still have a long way to go.
I honestly believe that our society is starting to accept interracial dating.
Times are changing, and I’m glad to say for the better it seems. In my youth I dated an African American woman and was saddened to see the looks and glares I got when people saw us together. They just shook their heads as if to say, why is that white guy with that black woman? I’ve always believed that people are who they are by their heart and actions, not by the color of their skin.
It appears that more and more people are in interracial relationships these days and society is more accepting than it used to be. Much in the same way that Gays were shunned or hiding their relationships for fear of what might be said or done to them, interracial couples are also coming ‘out of the closet’, so to speak.
To me, love is colorblind. People fall in love for all kinds of reasons, but they should not miss the chance of true happiness because their skin colors may differ.
Society has a long way to go before they truly accept interracial dating, but signs are apparent that it is at least being more accepted these days. Interracial dating is growing rapidly and more and more singles are expanding their horizons and accepting the possibility of dating outside their own race to find their happiness regardless of what others may think. This not only shows their courage and desire, but is a step in the right direction to defeat racism.
